375 woodleigh bullets?

I'm going to use the 375 cal. 270 gr. Woodleigh RN bullet for brown and black bear this spring out of my 375 H&H. They list two bullets. One regular, one heavy duty. They are both bonded. Does anyone have experiences to relate which could help me decide which one to use.

Hi!

Just want to mentiom:
-I used then 270RN Woodleigh for Moose some years ago.
Very bad bullet behavior. Total breakup on the shoulder, the animals went down(shot only 2..) but needed a neckshot afterwards..
Switched to 300grs and problen solved.
Probably a bad batch.
Still I would use the heavy duty..

Thanks for your reply metric. I will do both to be on the safe side. 300 gr. heavy duty. I have heard good reports about the 350 gr. Woodleigh but I'm not sure that I want to deal with the increased recoil.

Use the PP points instead of the RN and you will be fine. Either 270gr or 300gr. I load the Woodleigh 350gr. PP in my 375 Ruger Guide Gun with the 20" barrel. I get a chronographed 2391fps with just under 1" group at 100yds. Other load I have worked up was a Nosler 300gr. Accubond chronographed at 2590fps with 1/2" group at 100yds. I wouldn't be afraid to use the Accubond load on brown or black bear.

+1!
Have used boxes of these bullets on water buffalo, the PP is a heavier constructed bullet than the RN.
It penetrates far deeper and mushrooms somewhat less.
The 270gr PP will be fine for your needs.

Actually you could shoot beer cans thru a .375 and kill black bear...Meaning shoot whatcha got it won't fail..No such thing as failure with a .375 on black bear, and Im confident the same would apply to elephant if you can shoot, at least that's been my experience.
