JudgeG, that would be a hammer on soft skin game... I am going to chornograph that load today. I chornographed three of the Federal 458 win. mag. 500 grain Throphy Bonded Bearclaws...got..2153, 2150 and 2077...better velocity than I thought.

I think the Lott and I hope the 375 H&H, which I need to acquire, for 2005!

I know you're not especially fired up about hunting lions, but that .458 and 510 grain bullet would wear one out! Great shooting, too. Now the only question is which to take to the Selous in 2005.

You can use a trick to help sighting on your target with a heavy duplex reticle, or a plain heavy for that matter. Use a square aimpoint, and align the vertical edge and horizontal edge of the reticles with the edges of one corner of the square.

I learned that trick from John Schaefer on his scout rifle pages.
