Drop magazines for a Mauser for 404J
I'm looking for an extra capacity magazine for a 98 Mauser being converted to 404 Jeffrey. Preferably without having to restock. This is a Zastava M70 in .375 H&H. The receiver has a notch in the front receiver ring and the receiver and bottom metal are opened up at the factory for .375. I'm sure that new bottom metal would be the way to go. Dwayne Weibe makes a drop floorplate but he doesn't have any to sell. Sunny Hill makes bottom metal for 404 but I think that the stock needs to be deeper. I had one converted to 404 using their hardware and it fed extremely well. Rube Wells did the work. Is there anyone else who makes bottom metal that will permit 404 to be fed properly? Preferably with extra capacity (4+1) and without the need to restock?
The complete bottom metal would be about $500,
and letting it hang below the standard stock is fine
for my redneck sensibilities,
just like Saeed does with his .375/404J.

A simple coffin floorplate to replace the factory plate on hinge pin
would be great.
Same one would work on .458 WIN or .375 H&H action.

AtkinsonDennis Olson, Plains, Mt. can fix you up with however many more rounds you need by just extending your present magazine..He did one for me and it looked good and worked good..Also the existing floor plate can be extended for one or two rounds without changing the exterior much at all.
