What is the best bang for the buck, big bore cartridge?
Hi guys

What is the best dollar for foot-pound, or best big bore value gun-cartridge combination?

I've always thought for super big bores, the 50 caliber Browning, with mil sup ammo is the best value going.

375 H&H next, and 458 magnum/lott/ackley next.

Comments? Better ideas?

Soc,

they say the .500 A2 is pretty good value as far as huge goes.

I would say oce your set up for a .458 lott with .375 brass and 45/70 bullets you would have a good cheap banger.

N E 450 No2
Now that you can get the 458 Lott in a factory rifle that would have to be it. Brass is not an arm and a leg and you can get bullets, even 500gr for peanuts compared to other large bores. I am speaking of hunting rounds here....The 50 Browning 50 is in a "whole nother" league.
