John FrazerFor .375 H&H Whitworth shooters
Do you find that your cases need to be fully resized, or nearly so, to chamber easily?
I resized a bunch of once-fired Remington cases using the Redding FL die and Redding Competition Shellholders and found I needed to use the "+.002" shellholder to allow sized cases to chamber easily.
This seems like a pretty tight chamber for a belted magnum factory rifle (my Beretta .338 only needs the "+.010" shellholder for once-fired cases) and I wondered if anyone else had similar experiences.

OldsargeJohn, No confirmation, here! My cases go from the rifle to the dies and back to the rifle, again and again with no difficulty. Loaded hot, too.

MacD37John, I think you have a bad set of dies! I have two Whitworth 375 H&H rifles, one in a synthetic stock for Alaska, and Canada, and one in wood for Africa, both are factory barrels, and I have had no problem with chambering when only neck sizeing! I use RCBS dies exclecively, and have never had a problem with any of the over 50 sets, of dies I use to load everything from 22 Hornet, to 577NE 3.25".
I would fire two factory rounds, in the rifle, and send them with your order to HDS for a set of dies, and ask them to determin if you have a tight chamber, but I have an idea the problem is with the dies, your now useing!

John FrazerI don't think it's bad dies -- more like the chamber is so short that cases don't stretch much.
The rifle works reliably and is very accurate (which also suggests minimal slop at the shoulder).
However, I do notice that the dies are pushing in pretty firmly on the side walls of the case. Maybe the chamber's a little loose in that dimension.
I haven't fired enough cases enough times to see what case life is like.
