Collins458 Lott Loads
I will preface this with "I know there are no absolutes" but...
Is it generally safe to use a MAX 458 Win mag load in a 458 Lott. On the powders that cross reference on stevespages that looks like a good rule of thumb.
Expert opinions gratefully accepted.

GrumulkinI think that in general yes but I would still check a specific 458 Lott reference if it was available.
Yes, that would be safe. I'll go one better:
It is safe to use standard 458 Lott loads in a .458 Win Mag that has the standard long, wide, leade-only throat. Just seat them to .458 Lott length and single-load them directly into the chamber.

Rob,
Is that the O/U BRNO .458WinMag double with a CIP standard throat? That is a long throat, that can be long-loaded to .458 Lott levels. Finn Aagaard showed us the way.

I went to the IMR site and found plenty of info on the Win but NONE on the Lott I went to Stevespages and the info he has there on the Win includes a lot (no pun) of powders that I use where the Lott page did not. So, this is good news.
