Harry ONorma 201 powder in a 9.5x57 MS?
I have some loading data for the 9.5x57 Mannlicher-Schoenauer from the Mannlicher Collectors newsletter. I have been using IMR4064 with pretty good results although the velocity is a bit on the low side.
One of the other loads listed in the newsletter is for the Norma 201 powder. I just ran across a guy that has that powder on-hand and wonder if anyone has experience with it in any kind of a cartridge that is similar in size.

tiggertateNot the exact info you asked for but I load the 9.3 x 57 which is very similar. IMR 4895 is a very popular powder for it; usually 46 to 48 grains with a 286 gr bullet. That may extrapolate well to the 270 gr 9.5 bullets.

sierra2Hi Harry,
Thought I answered this before. I started using N201 in the 9.5x57 back in 1971-2. Works very well, sort of like IMR-3031, and since then I have always kept a can or two of N201 for the old large bore calibers. I believe the charge is 46.0 grains of N201 behind a 270-285 grain slug using 9.3x57mm Norma cases opened up to 9.5mm.
