I know there is the 416 Howell which if I remember is a 2.5" 404 Jeffrey necked to 416.

What about a 2.5" RUM based 416...cheap and easy to find brass....maybe better performance than the 416 Taylor?

it would be exactly the same thing, except the base would be ".535 base" rather than 404. The RUMs are 404, with a slightly smaller base, improved, necked down.
