Re: .505 magazine box dimensions
Mark_Stokeld,

A poster here by the name of "Robgunbuilder" gave me that handle. He promised to ignore me (aka leave me alone) if I used it. He and I aren't the best of friends, as I am sure you could guess by now. Besides that it, drives a few other posters here I don't like, NUTS! It has no reference to any "lifestyle" outside of jerking the chain of a few posters here at AR.

Here are the dimensions I have on file from a Magnum Mauser actioned rifle I once owned chambered in 505 Gibbs:

Width Rear - 1.115"

Width Front - 1.020"

Length - 3.875"

Depth Rear - 1.880"

Depth Front - 1.785"

That magazine held four down, which means that the top round was stripped off into the chamber when the bolt was closed leaving three rounds in the magazine after the rifle's bolt was closed (usually I only loaded three though as the bullets get the snot kicked out of them in the magazine).

I hope that helps some.
