mr rigbyLoading data .404 Jeffery with Barnes bullets
I havent got the Barnes Manual and i need some data for the .404 Jeffery with Vihtavuoori and Norma powder for 400 grain Barnes X and barnes Mono slid.
Anyone here that has some data i can work out from?
IIRC, the Barnes Manual does not include .404 Jeffery. Don't have one in front of me, and I suffer from Sometimer's Disease.
Do a search for Saeed's .404 Jeffery load data of a few years ago. He was using some VVN powders IIRC, and had some excellent results. I don't know why he never added all of that to the .404 Jeffery page of his reloading pages. It is good stuff. Just not priority stuff for a busy prince, I guess.

Which Vihtavuoori and Norma powder do you want to use? I'll run it through Quickload.

mr rigbySaeed hasnt added it to the reloading pages ichecjked it out.
I want to use VVN 160 and Norma 204 and Norma N-4 powder.
I have loaded a couple of rounds with 75 grain N4, but i`m not sure if thta is right for the bullet .
I found some data from when he tested the Walterhog bullets
He used Wihtavuori N550 and high energy powder of the N 150 powder, the N150 is almost similar to the Norma 203-B Powder, ill dig trough the loading box when i get back from an Poland hunting trip next week im leaving tuesday for the hunt.

mr rigbyThanks Rusty, ill use the data to work out from, and the barnes bullets i have they are old and regular X , so ill see how they will behave pressure wise.
But there is thankfully many good bullets in 404 out there, only thing i rembered that might be an fine way to make it even more versatile is an 300 grain Woodleigh PP for Plains game uses.
It was an 300 grain before and it would be fine to have one again , an good bonded bullet for sheep hunting for instance.
