Ackley Improved UserWhat's your experience with .375 Speer 270 gr. BT?
What's your experience with .375 Speer 270 gr. BT? Is it a good hunting bullet? Have you tried it? Is it accurate? Regards, AIU

jsl3170I suppose the question is first and best answered by telling us the intended quarry? Let's face it - a 375 anything is usually pretty good medicine for most anything until you get to the heavies or DG.
More info would be helpful.

Ackley Improved UserIntend to use them for North American game, all types, and African plains game. What do think?

375fanHave used them for practice bullets, they are ok for that. For hunting go with a premium grade bullet, Nosler Partition, Swift A-Frame, or Barnes tsx, etc. Just my .02.

nainitalHave used them on everything here, always a good experience. Of course, the local red stags and hogs are minor stuff, against bison and the big bears.

458WinMy limited experience with them shows them to be an accurate, useable cup and core bullet. Not great but certainly adequate for elk, moose, black bear, African plains game and your average grizzly.

458,
Love your quote - seems to be more-and-more accurate as I get older-and-older.
Also, seems that 270 gr. regardless of the "design" is going to create some severe and lethal tissue damage, especially when moving over 2500 fps (I'm getting 3060 fps from my 375 AI). I wouldn't use it on Cape buffalo or elephant, but I believe it would be more than adequate for plains game and the like.

I have used it in my .375 over 70 gr of IMR 4064. I have taken antelope & deer with it. You can eat right up to the bullet hole.
