RhysKick me for not having a .375 in the rack now
Was just out walking around killing time early this evening, and stepped into a shop just to look around. They had 4 boxes of 375 H&H loaded with 235gr TSX marked for clearance at $24 per box. Almost picked them up as I'm probably going to put a another in the rack in the next few months.
Yes it's cocked, and it has bullets too!!!

BriceYou're the only guy I know who does not have a 375 H & H. Oops! Sorry. I don't know you, do I? Oh well. And I just arranged a sale between two friends of a M70 375 classic as new w/ VXIII 1.5 x 5 for $900. Nice wood, too. With 80 rounds of brass and 3 boxes bullets.

RhysHad one for several years until I was refinishing the metal and found that the rear ring of the receiver had cracked at some point. It destroyed the action at that point, and have been using some smaller stuff in the mean time. I'm on the fence between another 375 and a 404 or 416.
Yes it's cocked, and it has bullets too!!!

AtkinsonThe rear ring is no problem to fix, tig weld, polish and blue it..might have to d&T but I doubt it.

RhysWith the receiver being cast welding was found not to be an option. A repair was attempted, and another crack formed right next to the heat affected area. I also figured if there was one flaw on the casting that caused the original crack there were likely others.
Yes it's cocked, and it has bullets too!!!

Go back and pick them up and I'll buy them off you!

Dan416When I bought a 505 the 375 seemed redundant. I know, I know, the 375 is the quintessential, classic big bore ctg but didn't seem to want/need it at the time.

lowgunMaybe you could explain the cracks a bit better. What caused them?

streetglideokI have a 7mm rem mag, 300rum, 300win, 338win,375H&H, 416 rem, and a pair of 45-70s. Of those, the 7mm rem mag and the 375 are my favorites by far. Hell, I think I could stand to get another 375, the wife has even shot mine and liked it. Maybe she needs one?

lavacaThe .375 is a great cartridge in its own right, but IMHO, it's a bit redundant. A .416 will do anything a .375 will do only better. The only possible exception is long range stuff.

p dog shooterI am another one with out a 375 but if I was going to buy one it would be a 375 ruger.
But for now a 338wm and my 416 well have to do.

At some point I want to get my hands on some of the Hornady .416 match bullets. That should arrive with authority way out yonder.
