urdubobDoes anyone have any info on the .450 No.2 MUSKET round.
Does anyone have any info on the .450 No.2 MUSKET round. I picked one off the ground while hunting in the Karoo. This is not a 577-450.
Thanks

<Yspen>It is .500/.450 . A friend of mine has as No.2 made by Westley Richards . (martini action ) Propably falls in the 45/70 class - shoots a 500gr lead bullet at approx 1300 fps .
Easier to reload than the 577/450 but best to stay with Black Powder.

MarrakaiMy friend has a Tolley sidelock double rifle chambered for this cartridge. He loads a 350 gr jacketed projectile ahead of a modest nitro charge, and gets good regulation. Problem in making cases is the rim thickness, he was cutting down old .475 No.2 cases at one stage!
I have a Westley Richards 'Improved' Martini chambered for the .450 No.1 carbine, perhaps we will organize a shoot-off one day!
