Ray you are exactly right again. Johan, Barnes still makes thier 400gr monosolid. I am using them this fall in Moz. for buffalo, unless NF gets me some of theirs.

Barnes has just announced some new TSX (triple shock) grooved bullets in the larger calibers 358, 375 416, 423 and 458:

The best news is:

404 Jeff. Diameter Weight Description S.D. B.C. CAT#
NEW* .423" 400 gr TSX FB 42384

Always need more choices for our 423 bores.

Why? What is wrong with the present bullets?

What I hated to see was them dropping the 350 gr. .404 bullet as it was a better weight in the 404 than the 400 gr. IMO its best to drop down one weight below standard with a monolithic as they are so long for their weight.

Will you have trouble the cartriges loaded with mono solids in your standard mauser action?

I guess this could be a perfect reason for useing a slighly longer action

Does barnes make any 404 bullet right now? I couldn't find any..
