DthfrmbvImpressed with the .375 H&H
I had a chance today to shoot my .375 H&H barrel that I bought for my Blaser R93. This was my first time ever shooting such a caliber. It was very comfortable and accurate to shoot that I may leave my .300 Win Mag barrel home this May when I go to RSA to hunt plainsgame. I'm going to purchase, since I do not handload some Remington 300 grain SAF ammo and see how they shoot out of my barrel. I assume the knockdown power of this cartridge will be as impressive as the accuracy I saw today?

FjoldI know how you feel, I got mine last October and I have about just over 300 rounds through it already just because it's so much fun to play with. Varmint season is just starting here so I'll probably slow down a bit for now, but it is quickly becoming my "fun" gun.

N E 450 No2I have 2 375 H&H bbls for my Blaser, one the regular hunting bbl [not the Safari], and the other the 19 3/4" Tracker bbl. Both of them shoot very well to 200 yards, the farthest I have shot them. I really like the "handiness" of the tracker bbl. So far I have killed a pig and 2 turkeys with it.

With the regular bbl I have killed a couple of deer.

chestermcI have a newly aquired Win. clasic in SS with syn. stock and luepold 2-7 scope. I have obtained about 300 rounds of 270 grain ammo in Rem.and Sierra. I am in Idaho and trying to get a day off when the weather is good so I can play.
As mentioned in another forum thread, I intend to retire my 358 Norma. As soon as I get outside I will post my information and openions and look forward to discussion and advice.

SpringI love to shoot my 375 on my Blaser, especially after an afternoon of shooting my 470. The smoothness of the 375 with that Blaser trigger and the 10oz recoil reducing "kick stop" makes it feel like shooting a much smaller caliber. Did you add the kick stop to your configuration?

N E 450 No2I do not have a kick stop in my Blaser. If I ever get a Safari bbl I will install a kick stop, they arte needed to balance out the heavier bbl. I have shot a 416 Mag with the kick stop, and a lady friend of mine has a kick stop in her 308 Blaser. Shooting it side by side with my 308 does show a reduction in recoil.

SpringAside from the added balance the kick-stop provides, it also gives you obvious benefit of the reduced recoil found in a heavier gun. It's so easy to install and remove and I think its a nice plus when shooting the larger calibers.

AtkinsonI hate to bust any bubbles but I think you will find a 300 will give you quicker kills on all plainsgame than the .375...until you start shooting Lion or buffalo, any 300 is hard to beat...

Are you onlty taking one rifle? Why not take both bbls, or better yet get another Blaser reciever and take 2 Blasers.
The 300gr Swift A Frame is a good bullet, especially for buff, eland etc, but If I was shooting alot of the smaller plains game I think I would prever the 300 gr Nosler Partition. I think It would do more damage on the smaller animals while still having enough penetration for the big stuff.

DthfrmbvI was only going to take one rifle, but I guess I could take both barrels. That's one good benefit of the Blaser. I just had so much fun shooting a larger caliber and shot it accurately.

jstevensIt's hard to not be impressed with the .375. They always shoot well, kill anything, and have the nostalgia factor as well. Everyone should own one or two.

Michael RobinsonHow's this for a non-traditionalist yet still traditionalist:
I like my Blaser R93 .375 H&H Mag. so much that I'm now in the process of building a pre-64 Winchester Model 70 in the same caliber.
I only hope the Winchester will shoot as well as my Blaser does!
