270 gr Speer Bullets???
Who here has used them? How did you like them? I tried some last night in my .375 and was pretty pleased with the results. I read on another forum where Ray uses 270 gr bullets and 70 -72 gr of IMR 4064. I tried 70 gr of 4064 and got a decent group. Was going to try some more. Maybe work up yo 72 gr.

I've used the 270 grain Hornady's but just to put holes in paper. I actually had a number of subMOA groups at +2600 fps. I switched to the 260 grain Nosler partition for my pig load because I got outstanding accuracy with those.

I'm now working with the Barnes 300 grain TSX for a soft point load and the Barnes 300 grain banded solid for serious work.

I tried the Hornady 270 and wasn't too pleased with it. I hit a calf elk at about 50 yards and it didn't exit the chest. I think it hit the bottom of the spine & disintegrated. One dead elk but it should of exited.

I use these in my pig hunting. From several beasts shot from 10 to 120 meters I´ve never recovered one and the wounds are awesome, most fell on the spot. My own recipe includes I.M.R. 4350, by the way.

I like them for paper ... very accurate. Have seen some sub 1/4" groups with them.

Don't like them for game. I think they are too soft.

Noslers Partitions and Barnes X bullets do much better.
