.505 Gibbs in 2005 CZ Catalogue
I have a cousin who is a CZ dealer and he just got the 2005 catalogue that lists the .505 Gibbs, 450 Rigby, and 404 Jeffery as available through "Special Order." MSRP was something like $1600 with standard wood.

My .505 is already ordered!

I can almost feel the ache in my shoulder.

Already got a 404, such as it is!

It's supposed to be a 404 Jeffery, but actually, it's a 404 Brown-Improved, since I have to blow out my cases to make it work.

Wouldn't trade it for the world! It's a one-of-a-kind.

You should order a .404 Jeffery, too. That would make a great combination in a DG area.

Hello!
It is just a small inconvinience if the Swedesh importer doesnt import the 505 rifles.
One just have to import the gun as a private purchase.
From the police point of wiev, you just fill in one more
form when you apply for your gun licence.
This applies to imports from the EU.
(you also pay the WAT in the exporting country, Germanys WAT being 15%)

More info on the police home page.

I guess you mean Vansverken

The problem will be to find a rifle I doubt the Swedish importer will offer these new calibers

Cheers

Johan,
Yes, it is of course the well known company Vansverken

I don't want a new CZ! I have an order at Vrnamo Vapen (Mr Wgesson) on the older Brno 602 action with built in Peep sight when he gets one. I will rebarrel that rifle, make a new stock, else leave it as is, no scope, just the peep sight -it will be a plain working rifle just like my .404.

I have been invited by an old friend of Ken Stewart to go hunting "problem animals" with him next year and i think that my .404 and a .505 would make a good combination.

I will have Ken make some 600 or even 650 grains bullets for the .505!
