Ultra Light Arms 416 Rigby
I was in a gun shop this weekend that a friend of mine owns. He had ammo and a rifle that he was selling for an older gentleman that couldn't get out anymore. I bought the 416 Rem ammo and 416 Rigby ammo. He has an Ultra Light Arms African Model in 416 Rigby that weighs 7.5lbs plus the Leupold scope (1.5x5). He was asking $3,900 for the rifle with scope. He estimated it had 20rds fired in it. He also has about 20 boxes of Federal Premium Safari ammo in 375H&H with 250 or 260gr bullets but I don't know what he is asking for the ammo. If anybody has an interest, I will give them his phone number.

A brand new NULA Model 40 is $3900 so effectively, the scope is free (assuming the rifle is near new).

Basic math:

7.5 pound rifle + .416 Rigby + scope = ouch!

It does have a brake on it. George, I thought the same thing. I figured that was asking price and it will probably be negotiable. They said it had 18-20 rounds thru it and it looks like new. I held it and looked it over. I have a perfectly good CZ worked over by Wayne at AHR.

When I was in Alaska I had the chance to fire a 6.5# unscoped 416 Rem with a 350gr. TSX load. Honestly, the recoil was not bad at all. I was really very surprised by this.

Ed,

Gun like this have an extremely small customer base because of the chambering and price.

That package would have to come down another $1000 before it would start to get nibbles from the big-bore connoisseurs here. Wink
