BrentRe: 45-70 loads for Pedersoli 1874 Sharps
Timberghost, after reading your response I see that you are, indeed, EXACTLY the person who should be loading lead and real gunpowder. For most of us, it terribly complicates one's life. But your life is so complex already that you need simplification. And, here the passionate pursuit of recovering the lost art of real riflery will cause you to dismiss those 24 different rounds to the dusty back corners of your basement, or better, off to ebay with them!
Then sit down and learn the One True Way!
I'll be there to offer moral support, mentoring, guidance, consolation, sympathy, coaching, whatever you need. We converts to the One True Way will be understanding and go out of our way to help you with this simple addition, which in your case will vastly improve your life.
Trust me on this......
Brent
PS. The lovey young wife and offspring will be a great help in cutting paper patches, prepping brass, rolling patches, stirring the lube pot, etc.

The DanePedersoli proofs their rifles with loads making 30% higher pressure than the hottest commercial avaliable load. When asked thats what they answered in a Fax. So 37000+30%=48100psi. A 405 grain jackted in front of 58 grains Vv N135 gives @2000fps out of a 32" barrel, and that's a mild load

BrentIf you want to shoot loads like that, why do you buy a Sharps in the first place? Seems very odd to me.
