Texas Blue DevilHill Country Rifles
I've been flirting with the idea of having Hill Country Rifles build me a 404 Jeffery on a Dakota action.
Does anyone have experience with Hill Country Rifles?
Thanks for the help!!

kl4jI recently purchased a rifle that they accurized. Based on how well this gun shoots they do great work.

Ed ScarboroI have had them accurize 3 rifles and they did an excellent job. The first group out of one of the 30-378's measured .098" at 100yds. My 338-378 with 250gr Swifts is fairly consistent at 1.25" at 200yds.

BiebsMatt and the folks there will do a great job. Not much on wood...mostly synthetic rifles.

Equinsu OchaI had a HCR in 300RUM that I took ALOT of game with.. Great gun and I regret selling it.. Granted, it wasn't a BIG BORE, but I would imagine that their big boy guns are just as good as their med and small calibers.
When I get around to it, I plan on having them build me a 300WBY.

RustyI have not experience with HCR. My 404 Jeffery was built by Tip Burns in Canyon Lake on a MRC long action with a L-W barrel. Be glad to show it to you if you are ever in the Houston area.

Bryan ChickI concur with all the above. HCR has done right by me on many occasions. Currently they have my 458 on which they are adjusting the stock in order that the trigger guard does not beat hell out of my middle finger. Gave it to them at DSC and they promised it by my hunt in May.

They do mostly synthetic stocks but, are fully capable of building with wood. ACGG metalsmith/stockmaker Michael Ullman is on their staff.
He does excellent stock work.

465H&HThey have a great reputation with the smaller calibers but I would check to see if they understand the special needs of big bores.

philny1I've had around six here that were accurized by HCR. Either sent in by me or had already been there when bought. A 30/06, 7mm STW, 300 Win,340 Wby, 416 Rem come to mind. They all were exceptional shooters.
They are great people to deal with.
