Have a chance to purchase a 93 that is set up in the 416 remington calibere,left hand bolt,and the syn.stock. i know the first thing you'll say is its not CRFeeding, but other than that what are your opinons of this rifle?

I have handled them several times but I have not shot one. The ones I handled seemed well put togehter but were light for my preference. It is a novel design, but I am a traditionalist. I suspect that if dumped in the mud, it would bind up. But lots of people are very happy with the Blaser.

Have 2 R93's since about 5-6 years (.300 WM & .222 Rem) and fired about 2000 rounds beween them. The .300 has been hunted hard during several trips in the Scottish Highlands and still shoots < .7 MOA (5 shots - hunting ammo). Never a problem, I whole-heartedly recommend them.

See if yoiu can fire that gun before buying it; the R93 is pretty light for a .416 Remington.
Recoil may be obnoxious.

I have the .416 RM Blaser R93 Synthetic. If it doesn't have the Kick-Stop recoil reducer, I strongly recommend adding it; the gun is on the light side. On the other hand, it is accurate and off the bench it is entirely manageable.

Of course, the other advantage of the rifle is that you can buy barrels in many other chamberings. In the Safari-weight barrels, a two-barrel set of the .375 H&H and .416 RM in Blaser's proprietary hard-shell case would be a lightweight and compact rig for hunting worldwide.

If the price were right, I would totally buy that gun. I like the .416 and Blasers are kinda neat. I'm not sure I would want it as my ONLY big bore (everybody's gotta gave a Mauser or Winchester in their safe) but I have shot them and they are accurate as hell and appear to be the epitome of reliability.
Since the .416 has the heavier contour bbl, I would also recommend getting a target weight .300 mag or 30-06 bbl for yourself.

Will not be the only big bore, I'm still working on shooting the 450Nitro with full house rounds, whish that Ruger was just a tad heavier

My opinion about blaser is very clear. I would look for something else, to be honnest

I have owned one and it was a very sick gun. If you get one in 416 rem recoil can be hard.

I have a R93, wood stock and the slim .375 hh barrel. It weighs 3.8 kg with the scope and is a dream to shoot. No problems. I have shot and hunted a lot with it and have had no problems. Very reliable in my experience, excellent trigger and very accurate. You can break it down for transport, with the barrel and scope taken of, and reassemble without bothering to check zero, it will be spot on. I would go for it, although I prefer walnut stocks.

And don�t mind Johan, remember he is from the country who gave us abba and Volvo, so clearly having a keen eye for esthetics is not in his heritage..

Dave, Blaser offers the "Kick Stop" as an option. It's a recoil reducer, a metal tube filled with tungsten balls. The beauty of it is that every Blaser comes already threated for it, inside the stock. All one has to do is to remove the buttplate and screw in/out the tube, as simple as that. I own one that I use for bench work with my .300 WM. I take it out when hunting, to save the extra 600 g. Felt recoil is reduced the same as with regular muzzle brakes (or is it the weight ?) but without the extra-blast.
