loads for TSX in .375 H&H &416 Rem
Leaving for Namibia in 6 weeks.I tried RL 15, and H 4350 with fair results almost 1 moa with 375, and 1.5 moa with 416. I have been working at top of loading scale.. I have been shooting 270grs and 350grs. I also have some nosler 260 accubonds. any suggestions.
Thanks
JD
JD:
Not sure what ranges you are shooting and what conidtions, however, it sounds like you have had good success. Being so close to your heading to Africa I not sure I would change a thing but put in more practice time shooting from field positions.
I had extremely good accuracy out of my 375 H&H with 270 grain TSX and H4895 at nominal 2720 fps.
With my 416 Rigby I have been using H4831sc with 400 grain TSX.

458RugerNo1jjs has it right, stick with what you've got, 1" to 1.5" is nothing to worry about. Practice and train at varying distances and in field positions and report back to us when you get back from your trip! (With pics of course!)
Thanks for the reply,I spend most weekend shooting Metalic Silhouette with a .5 moa rifle
I can often shoot 2 " groups at a 100 offhand with a 1.5 moa rifle it will open up to 3.5 to 4 inches. At 100 it does't matter at 300 it makes a big differance. If conditions are calm and I am in good form I hope to make all my shoots off hand.I have done some shooting kneeling, the rice patty squat does't work well with the 416, it keep rolling me backwards. Please give load data. benching the 416 is a good way to pick up a flinch.
Thanks

71g of Rl-15 in the .375 gives about 1.5 MOA in a Sako mauser

AtkinsonSounds like your OK with the RL-15, I use that powder some...but for pure accuracy I have found IMR-4064 to be the powder for the 375 H&H..I use the same loading data as for any other bullet for the Triple Xs...I get sub 1" 3 shot groups with my .375 and 4064..For the 350 gr. bullets I have found RL-15 to be my choice..
