I started reloading 460 Weatherby about a year ago, and with a 600 Overkill on the way I need to upgrade a lot of my reloading equipment to handle these big cases. Just wondering what everyone uses for:

Powder measure that drops more than 100 grains.
Case trimmer.
Chamfer and deburring.
Priming.

Work your powder measure twice, 2 throws, for each charge.
That will average out more acurately than a single throw anyway.

The Lyman 50-cal Deburring Tool (hand tool)(item #7810206) has an OD of 0.750" and will deburr and chamfer 12GaFH inside case mouth, I use a file outside.
It is more than big enough for 600 OK and 20G Hellboy.

I'll leave the rest for sumbuddy who know,
and learn from it too.
I have not had to trim any 12GaFH or 20G Hellboy brass yet.
Making my own file-trim die comes to mind, or a hacksaw.

I prime those "hell-gauge" cases with hand tools from RMC or regular shotgun press.

I like the Lee Auto-Prime II mounted on the AmmoMaster press for priming, smallest to largest, except 50 BMG has AmmoMaster 50BMG primer attachments from RCBS.

I use the RCBS Ammomaster. It will accommodate everything up to the .600 nitro, 8 and 4-bores, and 50 BMG. (I have all of the above except the BMG). I have bushings for 7/8", 1", 1 1/4", and the hole is 1 1/2". Works with everything.

That said it a good example of cheap products. A solid 0-frame would have been better rather than the three long bolts that hold it all together. The CH Tool big press is the best but I really don't need the size or expense for my limited double rifle reloading.

My scale is the RCBS is the auto dispenser and scale combo. Works great for double rifles but is way too slow for pistol and smaller rifle calibers.

Most of my common dies are RCBS but larger calibers are CH Tool. They are just as good quality, about 1/2 the price, and are quicker to get than waiting for RCBS to make up a set.

Nope, you aren't doubling the error. Each throw has a max and min error possible and they usually add up to the same relative percent of the total charge thrown once. In the bigger cases the error is virtually invisible.

I use an RCBS Rockchucker Supreme. It does everything under the big three cal pappas mentioned. Might even do 4 bore if the dies are 1-1/4. I would have gotten the Ammo Master if I thought I would end up with a 50 BMG but I stopped at 505 Gibbs and some 3-1/4" NE cases. I also have a 550 Magnum with room to spare; I'm sure it would do 600s.

Averaging the errors of two throws can only be an improvement over a single throw, in a batch.
I always trickle to the nearest 0.1 grain anyway, for rifles,
unless it is just for carefree plinking or fireforming loads.
Tedious for "caring" loads.

I have an RCBS Rockchucker Supreme (great choice)
sitting next to my AmmoMaster.
Gotta have a backup, or a second single stage always ready.
It is well capable of .416 Barrett.
It has a cast O-Ring frame, but I like the AmmoMaster better.

Yeah, no problem though , I already have a Rockchucker so I should be fine there. Sounds like I might as well just use the powder measure I have now since it works for the weatherby. Just thought it was goofy having to throw two charges of powder.

Looks like a good choice for priming. I use a Lee hand primer now, and I can use the Rockchucker if I have to.

So it looks like the case trimmer is the only thing I'm really going to have to get.

That might attract more attention.

I too am using a RCBS Rockchucker Supreme. It is large enough to load 50bmg btw. RCBS Chargemaster 1500 with matching dispenser works just fine. I am using this equipment for 600 Overkill. It works great.

I weigh every charge, really how many rounds of the 460 Weatherby are you going to shoot? Seems like very little extra effort in my mind.

What would be the ideal press for 450/400 up?

Up to 600 Overkill/Nitro Express I use:

RockChucker Supreme
PACT electronic dispenser and scale
RCBS Debur tool
RCBS bench-mounted primer tool

Haven't yet had to trim a case for either even after 10 reloadings.

I trim 577 NE a with CH4D trim die. I also own trim dies in 460, 600NE, and 600OK but have never had to trim them as the 600's don't seem to grow and i don't shoot my 460 enough.

I also double throw powder even though I own a Hornady 50BMG powder measure.
