470FANBlaser 416 Rem Problem
I was at the renge today shooting my 470 Chapuis and I thought I would take along my Blaser with the 416 Remington barrel. First time I have shot this gun. Pretty aggrivating when after every shot the cocking piece would go to the safety position.

You have to cock it to cycle the bolt.

This would not be the ideal situation with a dangerous animal grazing on your shoelaces.

Anybody have similar problems with Blaser rifles. I guess I should install the 338 Win Mag barrel and see if it happens with a lighter recoiling cartridge.

I have fired 6 different Blaser bolt assemblies, never had a problem, 2 were 375 one was a 416. Try the 338 bbl. If you dry fire or work the bolt fast and hard does it decock?

Once upon a time I owned a Blaser that did the same thing, mine was a 3006. I'm not sure what you should do. This problem is not new and I know other who had it. The cocking mechanism is not soo reliable. If you are unlucky it will be a tour for the rifle to the repair shop
I got tired of the blasers behaviour and mannors, I sold it.It's like the Germans them selves, they will never listen to anyone, because they know BEST

Heritage ArmsWhile I never seen it, it can happen, very, very rarely. It is an easy fix at Sigarms, ask for Reto, he is the gunsmith.

Kyler HamannI worked with Reto when we were at Rigby, he's "good people", he can set you up.

Michael Robinson470FAN,
For what it's worth, I have two R93s, three bolt assemblies and three magnum barrels: 7mm Rem.; .338 Win. Mag.; and .375 H&H Mag. I've never experienced your problem. So, I agree with Aleko--ship your rifle to Sigarms for a fix. But whatever you do, call them first and get a repair number (or whatever they call it). I tripped over that formality when I returned my R93s in connection with the recent trigger pin recall and it really slowed things down.

bigboreriflemanHi there, I use a Blaser R 93 with various barrels in .270 Win., .30-06, 8x68S, 9,3x62 and .375 H+H Mag. I am always satisfied with this fine gun. I've never had any problems. Blaser does a really great job, in my experience.
