Idaho SharpshooterThanks George. I spoke with Duane this afternoon, and he told me to hang tough and you would have some good pix.
He has some nifty stuff coming in 2011, but he said if I told anybody he would have to hunt me down and kill me. Tacoma is only 500 miles away, so I guess I have to keep quiet.
Great looking bottom stuff.

Rich,
You can't be saying things like that!
Let's hear it....!!! What do Duane and Steve have up their sleaves for 2011...????
Best,
Dave

jens poulsenVery good looking...as always from Duane

The Oberndorf triggerbow was a slight bigger than the ones from Duane . Duanes triggergaurds to me look like the ones of a H&H or Rigby style.
here is an original Oberndorf trigger/magazinebox
Here seen with singletrigger( recknagel)

Duane WiebeAhhh...nothing special is going on in 2011. I mentioned to Idaho Shooter that we were thinking of offering a blue printed CZ with our bottom metal, Timney trigger, new Oberndorf syle bolt handle, La Pour safety in a package that MIGHT be very competitive.
We are still pondering... but..hey....Duane

DeweyI would bet serious coin that, if you were to offer that action as posted, the demand would be huge and many guys would leap for joy to get one.
Some of us still want rifles with Mauser systems and are not seduced by the new actions from various smiths that really are better for target and varmint rifles,
So, if you do both the magnum and standard 550s this way, I expect it will be very successful.

Idaho SharpshooterWhew! A P/U with WA plates drove past my house twice this afternoon, real slow...
Thanks Duane for sharing that information. We can always use another iteration of the CZ platform.

Perfect for a 9.3x62 I would like to build.

Idaho SharpshooterOkay Gaylord, we'll just promote you to "smarter than the average bear!"
If I I squint just a hair I can see one of these on my CZ 450 Dakota.
My lovely bride is going to be sooooooooooo happy to hear I have an entirely new set of "needs".
This is an absolute marvel of a thread and new product introduction. I love this place...

Rich

M1TankerIs the SMP standard model for the CZ 550 a drop in replacement? Or will alterations to the factory stock be needed?

We'll be waiting for a report on that from Idaho Sharpshooter. We TRIED to keep the footprint close...did extend the front tang a little for better support and our trigger guards are .650 wide.

Idaho SharpshooterDuane,
check your PMs.
thanks for the offer,
Rich

DavidCDuane,
Great to hear you are thinking about a package deal for the 55o!
Your outline sounds like it covers about all the bases. Assuming this would include all feeding and function work neede on the rails, follower, mag box & ramp...? Are you considering offering the option to weld up the gap left by the factory trigger? A polish to remove the cz banor would be nice as well.
G.Hansen,
Which floor plate model did you choose? Standard or Rigby pocket plate?
I have a .375 H&H that I am going to order one of these units for. I am thinking about the standard model but have not decided....
Best,
Dave

Duane WiebeThe floor plate style depends on the cartidge you're looking to use...see me recent post on capacities.
I really well set up CZ should have all the features you mentioned...but like I said before,,just an idea so far
08 December 2010, 03:25
DavidCI just ordered a standard model for the 375 H&H in 5+1 capacity. Can't wait to get my hands on it!
I have a few more 55o's that are likely going to get new bottom metal as well.
G.Hansen,
You were right there were only 2 units left when I called. Glad I got one before Duane ran out!
Please keep us posted as your rifle comes along. You are ahead of me in the build process and I am looking for ideas as I move forward.
Best Regards,
Dave

Duane WiebeDave: Didn't mean to cut you out, but I just received a call from Wayne Jacobsen of American Hunting Rifles.
He says that the bottom metal comes very close to fitting...will take scraping and a bit of work at the front tang. (We made this a little longer than factory for more guard screw support)
20-30 minutes for a reasonably handy person
PS: Making another run!

DavidCDuane,
Another run.......Great!
How soon......?

Best,
Dave
