akalininIdentify this old .375 bullet
This is an older 378 Weatherby factory round with a 285 grain full metal jacket/lead core bullet. There is no cannelure on this bullet. Does anyone recognize the bullet manufacturer?

Speer made a solid at one time of that weight, I am 100% sure of that, but cannot find my old, old Speer manuel. A friend of mine used the old 285 Speer soft back in the '60's. He liked it. I am sure tried the solids, but those records are long gone.

CheechakoSpeer made a 285 gr FMJ bullet back in the 1950s and 1960s but the tip was more rounded than flat - sorta like the SP bullet.
What is that case?? No headstamp and a large Berdan primer? Are you sure it's a factory Weatherby load??

akalininI added a headstamp picture. It's an older Weatherby 378 load, and I would like to know who made the bullet, if possible.

CheechakoSorry, I should have recognized it as the bullet base. Maybe I need to wear those expensive glasses I had to buy.

AtkinsonWinchester made a very simular looking solid some many years ago, it was a total failure btw..I suspect that is what that is.

Idaho Sharpshootercorrect me, but didn't Norma load all of the Weatherby ammunition? Could be a Norma bullet.
