buckstixA great weekend at auction - Brevex #16 in 416 Rigby - and a Walter Abe 416 Van Horn
What a great weekend at auction - Brevex #16 in 416 Rigby - and a Walter Abe 416 Van Horn. That makes 16 Brevex rifles in the Clan. Apparently the auction house didn't recognize this as a Brevex. However, I did. Researching the history of this rifle will be a real challenge. How did RCBS get involved with building this one?
Here's the link to the 416 Van Horn by Walter Abe.

loud-n-boomerI saw that .416, as well, and was sorely tempted to bid on it. In the end, I decided I already have too many irons in the fire. I am glad it found a good home that is not mine!

Well, it was 11 years ago that I acquired the 505 Gibbs. I traded eight classic shotguns to get it. That was my first Big Game rifle and my first Brevex. That 505 is the culprit that's to blame for my addiction to Big Game rifle collecting, and my ongoing search for Brevex Mausers. And, the 505 is still my favorite.

BuglemintodayVery nice!
I have passed on a ZKK602 for 6+ years chambered in .350 Wells. A neat rifle, I am sure it was built by Fred Wells. If only the cartridge picked up enough interest in its day so that reloading dies were more available.

That's a great caliber. You should buy it. Or else tell me who, so I can.
