Pre- 64 375 H&H
I have a 375 H&H Winchester Model 70. Ser #493417 It is in about 95% condition. What year was this gun made? Is this the pre-64 everybody talks about and what is it worth?? Dads gone now but left me some real treasures, I think.. Thanks MD

MADDOG,
Your rifle was made in 1960. Is it a standard rifle or a super grade ? The super grade has a black foreend tip and says super grade on the floor plate.
Assuming the rifle is a standard grade it's worth between $1500-$1800, if it hasn't been altered--original pad , sights etc.
The pre 64 Winchesters are my favorite rifle. The magazine on yours will hold 4 down and you can load 1 in the chamber by pressing the cartridge down and riding the claw over the rim ..
The actions on these are slick . The one I have will shoot about an inch with softs and solids.

Terry - Thanks for the information. The gun is a standard grade and is very nice. It will probably be in our family for years to come. Thanks MD
