<BMG>What website to host pics for free?...
I'm looking into what website can host my pics for free. I did a search in the Big Bores forum back through Sep of last year and saw nothing on the subject. What sites do you guys use?
I'm looking to get more technically geared and want to be able to upload pics if necessary instead of asking others to do so for me.
Any chance of AR starting a photo hosting service?
Thanks,
BMG

MarrakaiBMG:
Check with your Internet Service Provider, you may find that you are entitled to a couple of meg on their server as part of the deal. This is certainly the case with the better ISPs in Australia, I have 5 meg allocated but they obviously don't check too closely because I've got about 10 meg up there! For some reason they don't publicise this aspect of the service and most users don't know about it.
Otherwise, follow the advice above.
Cheers

SaeedBMG,
No sir, we are not planning on offering free photo hosting pages.
We will be glad to put up your hunt, with photos, on our Hunting pages.
Here is an example There are many others you can look at on the Hunting page.

<BMG>Saeed,
Thank you for personally responding.
My quest,
I used to be a member of hunting-pictures.com but they changed to hunt101.com and that site seems to have been nuked or something. I tried imagestation.com, but something about their format & my computer didn't jive and I got an error signal in a couple places. I'm thinking webshots is my site, but I want to test. What were the Bracketing commands again? Something to the effect of

or something?
Thanks,
BMG

CrosshairsRight click on your picture and bring up the "properties" window. Your Link is in there. Let me try it...

Dang! What gives with the red X? It works in my preview screen, but not in the topic thread

What?!? Now I CAN see the image on my post, but not on Crosshairs post.
What do others see in either/both of our posts?
Thanks,
BMG
Update - Can't see it anymore, just the red X again?!?

GeorgeSIt works for me now, but didn't the first three times I tried to view your photo; Crosshair's photo works every time.

GeorgeSI think there is a latency problem (delays delivering the .jpg to the browser in a timely fashion). It will probably be all right later.

CrosshairsI'm getting the "red x" for your pictures also. When I first attached my picture I got a "red x" on mine too. I right clicked it and then clicked on "show picture" (I can't remember if I was in the edit mode or not)and that seemed to fix it. I'm not sure why... I was really just trying to check my link.
Try that...

T.CarrDon't use Webshots as a picture hosting site. Webshots does not allow the exporting of pics to other websites.
"I used to be able to link images from the Webshots Community to other websites, but now it's not working. Why?
Due to abuse, you can no longer display Webshots images on other websites. You can only view Webshots images from Webshots pages and within the Webshots software. Alternatively, you can post a link to the page that contains the image you'd like to display."

Terry

CrosshairsThanks Terry... That's weird since it obviously worked on my picture above. But at any rate it sounds like it may be better to post else where..
