AllenHawaii10.75x68 Bottom Metal info
Swift now makes their #21 Small Oberndorf Bottom Metal for the 9.3x64 that should work great for the 10.75x68 now.
A 30-06 mag box is just little to narrow to work well.
Could only get 3 down & 1 in chamber.
The #21 mag box has these dimensions:
Front Width: .762
Rear width: .939
Front height: 1.140
Rear height: 1.323
Inside length: 3.420
Patrick from Swift said there is enough metal in the front & rear walls to file the front & rear & open it another .100.
So can open up box to 3.50 to seat bullets long if one would like.
Their #22 30-06 box dimensions:
Front width: .698
Rear width: .885
Height & length same as #21 box.
The only 10.75x68 mag box dimensions I have are:
Front width: .854
Rear width: .930
Front height: 1.211
Rear height: 1.429
So it should be easy to get 4 down & 1 in chamber of 10.75x68 now.
Possibly even 5 down & 1 in chamber with a little massaging?
But 4 down & 1 in chamber is perfect for me!
Does anyone have 10.75x68 mag box dimensions they could post?

AtkinsonA neat caliber, I have built several of them and took one to Africa and shot some buffalo with it. With todays good bullets and powder it was very effective with a 400 gr. Woolleigh softs and solids and some Bridger flat nose solids..Why wouldn't it be a 400 gr. bullet at 2100 FPS is a 450-400 balistically and thats a time proven caliber..I got 4 down and one in the chamber..You can always add a WR magazine extension and get as many down as you want..I have a 404 J. that gets 5 down and one in the chamber.

Austin HunterI think some Northfork 380 gr bullets would be fabulous in the 10.75x68. You're at .301 sectional density.

AllenHawaiiThat's why I thought I'd let folks know there now is an off the shelf bottom metal avalible for the 10.75x68.
Before it was a pain to get something to work & were pretty well stuck with 3 down & 1 in chamber.
Now it's easy 4 down & 1 in chamber & prob 5 down & 1 in chamber with a little bit of work.
For me, 4 down & 1 in chamber is perfect.
Nice & trim and no fuss.

lb404I shoot a 10.75x68 I bought from Ray. I routinely get over 2250 gps out of 380 gr GS solids. Thanks ray! That Hoffman is a smoker and pleasant to shoot.
