375 Weatherby, 350g Woodleigh load data
Hi anyone, shooting 350g Woodleigh PPs or solids out of their 375 Weatherby Magnum? If so, what kind of velocities are you getting? If you've had any experience using them on brown bears, cape buffalo, etc., I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks in advance,

Chuck

Wait a minute, you said you were going with a .505 Smiler

458Win has used them in a .375 Ruger
Atkinson has used them in a .375 H&H
Will show in search

AR Reloading Page has test by RIP

I am shooting 260s as the 300s hurt too much Big Grin

Hi Chuck,
I have loaded my 378 with the 350 gr PP woodleighs and I took it to 2575fps. I haven't had the opprotunity to knock down anything yet.
I received an email from woodleigh and they reccomend to not exceed 2500 fps impact velocity.
Hope this helps

Chuck,

This is my load:

Case Win 375HH fire formed to chamber.
Powder 88gr H4831sc (start at 84gr)
Primer Fed. 215
COAL 3.660
Vel. 2510fps at 38 deg. F.

Very accurate load in my rifle.
When do you get yours back from the smith?

Thanks Steve, I haven't sent mine yet. I'm deciding between rechambering my CZ 550 to 375 Weatherby or having it rebarreled to 505 Gibbs. Right now the Gibbs is winning even though it's a lot less practical. I'll make the decision Monday.

Thanks much for the load data,

Chuck

I've found 77 gr of AA4350 in fireformed (NS'd) R-P cases with WLR primers to give 2375 fps with the Woodleigh 350 silids and 79 gr with the PPs for the same velocity. Pressure for both runs right at 55,000 psi(M43) in my M70 when measured with an Oehler M43 PBL.

With My M70 zeroed at 200 yards with a Hornady 300 gr BTSP at 2510 fps over 79 gr AA4350 (51,600 psi(M43) both the Woodleighs hit point of aim at 100 yards. Rather spiffy that way.

I found H4831SC to be severely compressed pushing the bullet back out before I could get over 2400 fps. Pressure was ok though. Might retry that load with fire formed W-W cases since Steve has had good success with it.
