CZ 550 magazine Springs
Who makes or sells a slightly heavier magazine spring for a 550 Safari Magnum? I changed to a Wisner floorplate to get 4 down, and now it seems a little wimpy when feeding the last cartridge. I've seen discussions that mentioned different springs, but not where to get them. Thanks

Demonical Dogleg after I had my CZ-550 converted from .458Win to Lott, I thought I needed a stronger magazine spring. So I got a Mauser magnum spring and put it in there and it actually messed up the feeding. With the stock spring, although it does feel weaker, the feeding is great.
I went back to the stock spring. I don't worry about it.

Remington720Brownells has a Mauser 98 magazine; they claim it is 10% stronger than the original. I installed one in my 550FS 9.3X62 and it is now 100% reliable when feeding all five rounds.

Demonical,
The only way I'll know is to try. The feeding for the last round on mine is no longer 100%. Of course the last round never used to exist before the floorplate change.
Where did you find the Magnum spring? Is the one you tried gathering dust somewhere?

Remington720,
I called a friend and got him to dig out some of his Mausers and his .375 CZ550. The spring from the Mausers was both shorter and narrower than the spring on the Magnum CZ. I saw the 10% over spring at Brownells too, and was initially hoping that it would work.It seems the medium length acton has a different spring.

BitterrootWe will have heavy magazine springs for the CZ 550 Magnum in stock first of next week. These springs are .005" thicker than factory spring and will be all the spring you will want.

BadboyzBitterroot,
You guys by any chance don't happen to sell the McMillan stocks that were designed for your rifles do you? McMillan says that don't sell that type of stock anymore.

BitterrootNo, no experience with the McMillan Express. I prefer an open grip on my stocks.
