In this political atmosphere Ruger is not likely to offer either a 375 or 416 in their American series as they would likely have to call it the African/ American !
Only if it cam in black.
Stainless is out.
I’ve shot musk ox with my , I know you don’t need that much power to kill a musk ox but it sure works

416TanzanIf I got an action big enough for a 416Rem, I would want the 416 Rigby with its enormous powder capacity and loading options from 416 Taylor up to 416 Weatherby.
If I wanted to remian around the level of the 416Rem, which is good for everything except longer range 350-500 yards, then the 416 Ruger does it all.

drewhenrytntCEB makes a 180gr Flatbase that may be the ticket for North America. 416Rem 81gr of RL-7 will give you 3300fps from a 24" New Haven Model 70...

AtkinsonWell in the big bores and even the medium bores, the monolithic bullet has been a game changer. I suspect you can drop down to a lighter bullet that works like a heavier cup and core or a partition for that matter (maybe) soooooo? but thats cheating and has to be out of line to bring that up..I shoot a 97 gr. GS Customs in my 25-35 Win and it kills better than the 117 gr. bullets of any make..and with penetrate a Mule deer stim to stern, and leave an exit hole on a bull elk most of the time..Same with Barnes in most calibers, still not my favorite bullet but thats another arguement on the internet blogs!!

To the youth of American, and beyond in some cases, velocity is the answer to all gun questions! to wit they go overboard IMO..

I just wish Nosler would make a .416 350-400gr Accubond...
I’ve been VERY pleased with my .416 (Weatherby) on
Elk, Deer, coyote and Squirrels in NA
Cape buffalo, Kudu, Wildebeest and Impala in Africa
TBH it’s barely adequate on squirrels.

The 416Weatherby is a great caliber. Shoot it well, shoot it often.
Disclaimer: I'm "old school" with the 416 Rigby, but we load it to over 6000ft#, as Weatherby knew to do with such capacity. Such loads are great, all around African or NA, with "flat", "diameter" and "hard-hitting" all included.

I agree 100%.
In fact, the photo in my avatar is a .416 Swift A-frame taken from my 6x6 Colorado elk a couple decades ago.

wheleniteI used my Model 70 in 416 Rem Mag on a Bison hunt in north Texas a few years back. The hunt wasn't much, but the 350 gr Speer Hot-Cor dropped the meat cow like a sack of bricks, and could be heard whizzing through the trees in the background.

AtkinsonThe 416 will kill any animal on earth with aplomp..I thoght that was common knowledge, and I have all but accomplished that fact..
I also see it as just a fun game, and thats OK..
I prefer a 30-06 and thats been my fun game for many many years, it does't loosen by snot, bruise my arm, put a crick in my neck or weigh me down, and that has something to do with my choices these days..Same for the 250 Savage and 7x57..

AtkinsonI would never want a big bore in that damn cheapo African American gun

, its crap IMHO,,Those big caliber are only fine in a mod-70 Ruger 77 African, Hawkeye, or a Mauser.
