.50 Caliber "Quick Poll" @ CNN
Vote now and pass this on:

50 Caliber Poll

CNN is trying to do a job on gun owners. They are doing a quick poll asking if the assault weapons ban should be lifted or extended. Since mostly liberals support CNN, the poll is showing a loss to our position. So, get this out to everyone you know ASAP to impact the poll. It takes about 30 seconds to link over and vote. Do it soon as the poll won't stay up long, distribute right away to your friends.

We really need some help on this poll. At one point we were losing almost 3 to 1 but that has improved with the help of others friends. I think everyone is aware how much mileage the folks at CNN are going to try and get out of this if in fact the results show the majority of people want the AWB extended. Please take a minute to go to the site by clicking the link above and cast your vote.

I've voted.

We've had to endure this crap in the UK for years and now we have some of the toughest gunlaws in the world. It starts like this and gets worse. Don't let it happen to you - vote now!

Nick,

I just contributed to the 52% for lifting

Do you know that for me, watching the American situation is like watching a video replay of the Australian situation and the video is playing film from several years ago.

Yo Dudes,
I've got six separate e-mail accounts between home and work, so I can follow the mantra "vote early, vote often". Since I grew up in Chicago I just had my grandma vote. She passed away in 1999, but she is with us in spirit on this one.

Andre,
This is not a thread hijack, just wanted to say hello. I flew out of the fighter base at Karup in 1991. It is halfway between Viborg and Herning up in Jutland. It was great flying. I pissed the Norweigans off by buzzing up a fjord under the cables one day. Those f****rs have no sense of humor. Maybe I shouldn't have told them they skied like Danes!

PS I miss the ice cream over there.
OK Back to the poll

Now that the numbers are skewed toward lifting the ban, I wager CNN will not use the results in its ediorialization of the news.

Actually, the poll had nothing to do with .50 caliber rifles; it had to do with the sunset provision of the 1994 'assault weapons' ban, aka the Brady Law.

Getting Congress to let this bad law expire is REALLY important, because if it is extended, look for .50s to be next on the anti-gunners' ban list!

George
P.S. Whatever you do, don't vote for John F. Kerry; he always votes against us in the Senate. Why he probably doesn't even own a big bore rifle!

I'm not so sure about all this.
I suspect, unless we're reasy to mobilize on a moment's notice, and have strong grassroots organizations at the ready on the state level, I see the ban being lifted, "the people" being coached into freaking out, and a new "improved" ban put in its place, one without all the "loopholes," including those pesky half-inch bullet slingers.
I'm certainly holding my breath along with everyone else, but I won't exhale just b/c ht AWB sunsets. There's much more to win.

If John Kerry wins, all centerfire semi-auto rifles will be banned, along with all .50cal rifles

55%-45% in our favor, but we'll never hear THAT on CNN.

I added my little vote, still 56% for us Yeah I somehow doubt we'll be seeing this on TV now, well not the poll anyways. I bet they'll just use some crap poll from off the "streets" that's scewed towards the GRABBERS.
