I don't have my books with me. Just wondering can 505 gibbs brass be used to make 585 nyati?
Assuming a source may become available with the new CZ550.

Karl-The base of the 505 would have to be expanded .020,
and probably would weaken it if it didn't split. Ed.

nope..
the 585 can be made from the 577 NE, bur the nyati's case head is same as the gibbs, but its REBATED from the body. Like Ed said, it'll split the case

Ed and Jeffe,
That is a pity about the cases since I was rubbing hands together at the possibility of new 505 brass. I knew there was a reason I never used the idea back when I got the 585.

Not a bad effort eh?All my arguing , debating, and friendships here yet I have never posted a picture of one of my guns on this site(that I can remember anyway).

I guess some of us can get away with it and some just can't.
