AtkinsonWhy?, one might think about a stronger $1.50 spring to be assured the floor plate wouldn't fly open. At any rate nobody I know makes a one piece bottom metal for a Ruger, but a good gunsmith could, but probably cost more than the rifle..One thing Im sure of you can get anything in the gun world if your willing to spend the bucks.

shootawayA one piece bottom metal secured against the action by the heavy duty anchoring/mounting screw would make feeding even more solid and reliable. The Ruger 77 MKII Magnum has really only one screw holding the cheap sheet metal magazine box in place against the action.

shootawayGetting some things together in preparation for my Ruger Lotts rebarreling. Some sights and bases and a new reamer.I think I might keep the original Ruger recoil pad unless my Smith can duplicate the thickness and contour of it with a Silvers.I also have a Dressel's grip cap on the way.I have a Brownell's crossboltt that I might use to replace the Ruger factory one.

AtkinsonI know of a couple of guys that have had the floorplates closed one way or another. Ive never had any problem with the Ruger bottom metal in a 375, 416 or 404 Ruger custom rifles, but if you locate someone building custom bottom metal for the Rugers please let me know as it would enhance the value of a custom Ruger IMO...
