Lar45Weaver K2.5?
Hi all, I have a Weaver K2.5. Will this hold up to a 470?

Heritage ArmsWe have had very good luck withthe new K 2.5 on .458 win mags and .416 Rigby's we may be the exception, they work for us.

RIPI was just thinking about trying one of those. The longer scope tube than the Leupold 2.5X would be an advantage with the long ring spacing on some of the big bores. How is the eye relief?

MacD37I have 4 or 5 of each Weaver's old steel K-2.5, K-3, K-4, and K-6 scopes with all the different crosshaires in them, and I've had them on everything from .22 lr, to 458 Win mag, and have never had a problem with any of them. The one draw back is the 3" eye relief is a little close! The longer tube is perfect for 375H&H length actions!

Do it, if it doesn't hold up, I'll be suprised!

Tom KesselI have or had at least 5 of the weaver k 2.5 on375,416 rigby,505 gibbs and never had one bit of trouble out of any of them [ wish I could say that for some other top brands!!!] I dont think you will have any trouble.

Frank BellerI use that same scope on my .458 Lott ..... no problems. Mine has been re-conditioned at ElPaso.

Lar45Sounds great thanks. Mine is the old steel tube model. It's currently on a Mauser 06 that is destined for a 3x9 something.

David ThomasI have an old steel tube Weaver K2.5 on my 30-06 Ruger M77 w/tang safety and I love the combination.
It is a great scope. Mine has at least 4" of eye relief.
Not sure how the K2.5 would hold up on your 470, but good luck. You should not have any problems.
