Weaver K2.5?
Hi all, I have a Weaver K2.5. Will this hold up to a 470?

We have had very good luck withthe new K 2.5 on .458 win mags and .416 Rigby's we may be the exception, they work for us.

I was just thinking about trying one of those. The longer scope tube than the Leupold 2.5X would be an advantage with the long ring spacing on some of the big bores. How is the eye relief?

I have 4 or 5 of each Weaver's old steel K-2.5, K-3, K-4, and K-6 scopes with all the different crosshaires in them, and I've had them on everything from .22 lr, to 458 Win mag, and have never had a problem with any of them. The one draw back is the 3" eye relief is a little close! The longer tube is perfect for 375H&H length actions! [Cool] Do it, if it doesn't hold up, I'll be suprised!

I use that same scope on my .458 Lott ..... no problems. Mine has been re-conditioned at ElPaso.

Sounds great thanks. Mine is the old steel tube model. It's currently on a Mauser 06 that is destined for a 3x9 something.

Maybe on the new ones! Mine are the old steel ones from the late fifties, and early sixties, and the 2.5 is 3.25" ER! the K-3, and K-4 are 3.50", and the K-6 is 3" [Cool]

I lived within one mile of the Weaver factory for 30 years, and have owned every scope they have made sence 1950. I also worked for American Airlines, and in August of every year we shipped 3000 pounds of their scopes to Canada daily for Aug, Sept, and Oct every year, till OLIN took over after old WR Weaver commited suicide. After WR died, the co. went to hell in a handbasket, till the new co was formed a few years ago! I have zero experience with the NEW Weaver! [Confused]

The only scope they ever made that was not up to the task was the old V-8 with external adjustments. It was truly a P.O.S. The guy who does the repair of the old Weavers, in El Paso, today, was the shop forman for WR, and bought the repair equipment from Weaver! [Cool]

I have an old steel tube Weaver K2.5 on my 30-06 Ruger M77 w/tang safety and I love the combination.
It is a great scope. Mine has at least 4" of eye relief.
Not sure how the K2.5 would hold up on your 470, but good luck. You should not have any problems.
