I kind of like the matte finish. All my work guns are matte finish so Im used to it I guess. I will be dogging the UPS guy all day wed till I get it.

I received the rifle today. Nicely done, decent wood and came with Warne QD rings and swivels to my suprise. Also three boxes of Hornady ammo so Sunday should be fun. Notice from Buffalo Arms that the Hornady dies are 4wks backordered.

Thats about the same for everyone on the Hornady dies, I haven't talked to RCBS to see if their dies are geared for .408 or .410 bullets.

Add me to list of happy owners. Ordered one from a local gun shop Wednesday and picked it up today. Has a pretty nice stock too. Probably get out and shoot her some tomorrow.

I had a chance to shoot the new rifle with Hornady soft points on Sunday. At 50yds off shooting sticks it was on elevation wise and needed a slight windage change but shot well. Recoil was, as they say in gunwriter terminology, "Brisk" but managable. I had the old No. 1 issue with ejecting cases hanging up on the safety. For a DG rifle this is unacceptable and should be addressed at the factory. All in all Im pleased with the rifle so far.

What is the going price now on the Standard and the Boddington models? I have the 9.3 X 74R and really like it. Thanks.

Still waiting on dies and brass. Has anyone had a gunsmith contour the safety on their No.1? Looking for someone who can do that and fit a Decelerator pad well. My usual smith is backlogged about a year and I dont want to wait that long.
