Semprio in 375....Anybody have one??
I handled a Semprio in 375 Ruger at the Dallas and Houston shows. I liked the feel of the rifle. The fiber optic iron sights were also very nice.

I was curious to see if anyone has any time behind a Semprio.

Thanks!!

A friend has one in 30-06, and loves it. Some of the groups being shot with the Semprio are absolutely awesome. There was talk at their booth at the DSC about the possibility of adding the 416 Ruger this year. That would provide some real fast-access firepower!

Wish they'd make some in the old 11,2 Schuler... or 10,75x68, or 10,75x73... or something else large & European I've already got dies for, anyway.

Amen, brother!

I wish anyone in America would start making factory production rifles in 10.75x68 and Hornady would start making at least properly headstamped brass, if not ammo. A Ruger African or alaskan in that chambering would be a very desirable rifle to me.

It is my favourite cartridge for such places as coastal Alaska and Africa.

I know, I know, John "Pondoro" Taylor hated it. He thought its penetration was totally inadequate. And it WAS, with the stubby little soft pointed 347 grain bullets it was commonly factory loaded with by DWM and others.

Well, he was a great hunter, but not very knowledgeable about what goes into making a good cartridge. To me it has exactly the right size and capacity brass.

It just needs a magazine box and throat to handle a good 400 grain bullet....or even a good monometal 375 grain bullet, propelled by modern powders.

What's not to like? A hefty diameter case, 5m/m shorter than a .404 Jeffery, using the same diameter bullets as the .404 Jeffery....?

I used to have a matched pair of commercial Mauser sporters for the cartridge when I lived in Saskatchewan. They were a delight to shoot and seemed to have exactly the same amount of recoil as a buddy's .45-100 Sharps straight.

The greater fool I for ever letting a guy in B.C. talk me out of the pair, all my ammo, and all my brass, and my RCBS dies. I thought I'd be able to easily replace them anytime. Yeh, right...!

I have a Semprio in 9.3x62 (I love that caliber!), which is close to the .375! It's fantastic! I love that gun! I have a second barrel in .300 WinMag. I have shot the .375 Ruger as well... - works very well!
General verdict on the gun... - AWESOME!!!

Para, welcome to AR. The 9.3x62...what a great cartridge choice for a Semprio!
