Hello all,
I have been following these forums for a couple of years now but not been participating in the discussions because of my bad English, but now after gathering some courage I have decided to share pics of my Big Bores to you. The Mauser is a vz24 in 458 WM and the Ruger is a 416 Rigby.
I would like to thank everyone on these forums, many of you have contributed with a lot of information and knowledge.

I'm all over your rifles. I also have a custom VZ 24 .458 but the biggest #1 I have is a .375.
It's been more than 10 years since the last time I was in you country but I have a few very special memories that won't leave my mind.

Nice guns the timber on that #1 Ruger is very nice the .416 Rigby is one of my favourite calibers I think there a very versatile gun !!

Welcome Mikusban.....and your english is fine. My Finnish, however, is terrible.
You have some very nice rifles there. I too have a couple of #1's but in much smaller calibers.

BuliwyfThank you for the picture Mikusban. After seeing it I went to the gun cabinet to look at my Ruger No.1 chambered in .416 Rigby and my FN Mauser in .458 Win Mag and remember the memories they have brought me. Lovely pair to draw to!

Mikusban- Welcome to AR. The rifles are very nice to say the least. Can you tell us if the Mauser was re-heat treated after it was made into a 458?

MikusbanPegleg- As far as I know the Mauser was not re-heated. Anyway I had the impression that vz24 was not considered as soft and therefor no re-heating is necessary. Of course I might be wrong about the necessity of the re-heating(I'm often wrong, never afraid to admit it)

fordnutterNice rifles there. Moose are ideal test subjects for big bore rifles. Moose might not be as tough as buffalo but probably a whole lot tastier!

AkshooterMy VZ 24 .458 was built over twnty years ago and was'nt heat treated. No problems at all with it.
The 416 sounds like good medicine for moose. The last one I shoot was bedded and took three good hits from one of my .375's then he stood up and it took three more to put him back down. All six were in the boiler room.
