srshooterYou've got my interest!! It might be a couple of months before I could get you the cash though....rough year!!! What kind of trading did you have in mind? If it's in good condition, I would love to own another Ruger No.1.....especially in .577 Nitro!!!

600 OverkillIf any of you guys are interested at all in this, I can vouch for the quality of these conversions. I have this exact gun in 600JDJ and for this price, it is an absolute steal of a deal. If I didn't have the one I have, it would be a great low-cost way into a fun 577. It's also a bullet casters dream

srshooterI'll see what I can come up with and get back to you asap! Nice rifle....if I had seen it a month ago I could have sent the $$$$$ but I have a .500 A-Square in the works and things are a bit tight. I will see what I can do though.
What are the specs as far as weight and barrel length? Is the muzzle brake removable with a screw on cap. What is the spacer between the butt stock and recoil pad? I've seen this on other SSK/J.D. Jones rifles and always wondered about it. That's the only eye sore on an otherwise beautiful rifle. I bet it'll wake you up in the morning!

Congratulations on a nice rifle.....it seems to be a sweet deal too!

I wish I could have gotten the offer a bit earlier in the year but that's how it goes. There's just too much on my plate to spend another $1500 on another big bore right now but I sure did want it!!!!!
I hope to get a Ruger #1 in .500 Nitro, .577 Nitro, or maybe even the .600 JDJ but the nostalgia factor in a big bore Nitro cartridge in a double or a falling block is huge. I'll bet you have a lot of fun with that one!
Keep us posted with tales from the range and the field!

That's a first for me. I have never heard of a .505 Gibbs in a Ruger No.1. I wonder how well it handles the .505. I thought that the .577's case was the max for a No.1....or maybe it's just the max rimmed cartridge and can handle bigger rimless rounds?

470EDDYI can't tell you on that issue. The rifle was put together by the fellow that used to work with Frank (not Fred) Wells in Tucson..Burgoins..SP??? then the engraving and inlaying done by another artist??
