10.75x68 Mauser - Best Accuracy Load
We had a 50 degree day here so I went to the range to test the new scope that I added. Its a Pecar 3x-7x-32. I used Warne rings because you can easily remove the scope, and have it return to zero when replaced. The group below shows 3 shots with the scope in place, and 2 shots after removing the scope, and replacing it back on the rifle. I didn't keep track of which shots were which, but all 5 shots went into the same hole.
As usual your comments are welcome.

FjoldWell, it looks like the Warne QD rings work.

sambarman338Nice shooting, buckstix!
Tell us about that Pecar scope. As far as I know, the medium variable Pecar Berlin made until closing in 2006 was nominally 3-7×.
There are rascals here now selling cheap image-movement scopes under the moniker of Pecar Optics Australia that might be Pecar Peking for all I know. Whatever their quality, I object to misuse of the famous name of the last German firm to make reticle-movement hunting scopes.

sambarman338Thanks buckstix ... but at risk of more allegations of pedantry I suggest you'll find the objective is 35 or 36mm. I think it has the same body as the 4x81.

AtkinsonI shot the 10,75x68 for q number of years early on and worked up a number of loads and they basically copied the ballistics of the 450-400s. I liked that and it performed well indeed on buffalo and such, light handy accurate and load data was nil and still is for that matter, it was fround on by some due to bad bullets blamed on the caliber, but with Woodleigh's 400 gr it shined, and the 350 gr Woodleigh was just barely
PG load...
I furnished my load data to several posters but don't recall who, but if you're interested I can try and dig it up.
All and all, I founf it to be a great DG rifle.I used Hanaber brass as that's all there was.

buckstixI have 3 rifles in 10.75x68 caliber. This one is the most accurate.
