airgun1375 H&H Nosler Partitions vs Nosler Solids
I asked in reloading and haven't had a response:
When loading the same weight Nosler Solid do you use the same data as your Nosler Partition load? I have a darn good 260 grain Nosler Partition load, 70 grains of IMR 4064 in a Win case with Fed 215 Primer that yields 2710 fps avg velocity with single digit ES.
If you typically use the same data, does it yield similar velocity/POI?

drongoNosler solids generate higher pressure than Partitions. Check the Nosler manual - I believe that they reduce the loads by a few grains.

Go DawgsLoad data for the partition and solid are on the same page in Nosler's reloading manual.

airgun1Thanks but I am hoping for real world data/experience.

airgun1Straight from Nosler Customer Service:
Mike,
Yes as long as you are using the same lot of powder, and same brass you should be just fine to use the same load, as the solid was designed to replicated the same pressures as the Partition given the same load. It is good to hear the Partitions have worked so well for you, and we appreciate your business.
Best regards,
Nosler Inc.

PeglegIt has been my experience that to get them to shoot to the same point of impact, you might need to drop the solids by a couple of grains of powder.

Larry SellersI have not loaded this Nosler Combo but my experience with Barnes 300 gr TSX and Barnes 300 gr Barnes Solids has been to drop one grain of powder on the solid to get same POI as the TSX. So what pegleg says is probably spot on? Since you are reloading shouldn't be a problem to check it out and prove it to yourself/
