Hornady Interbonds
Checked on Midway and the 500 grain (.458 caliber) Hornady solids and Interbonds are listed as "Closeout Specials". That is defined as:

Closeout Special
Product has been marked down and is being discontinued. Supplies are limited.

Interesting. Maybe Hornady has taken note of all the noise about poor bullet performance and intends to do something about it.

I heard that the "new" solids will have a steel "liner" somewhat similar to the Woodleighs. I would hope that any change to the "softs" would thicken the jacket and somehow bond the lead better to it.

I've hunted in Africa with the old-style solids that were copper colored and had no problems in .375 caliber. I have also taken to Africa the "now apparently cancelled" bronze-colored solids in .416 caliber. I never recovered a solid of either type so I guess they both worked well?? .... but reports by others of bullets coming apart really worried me, albeit, after the fact.

I've got a .450/.400 coming from Butch Searcy. I sure do hope that the "new, new" Hornadys are tough, both in softs and solids.

I guess we'll see!

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.
