Semprio in .375
I see the Krieghoff Semprio pump is now available in .375 and .416 Ruger.

Just out of interest whats the general consensus on this rig as a DG rifle? Fast follow ups, suitable for a PH?

Too bad its only marginally cheaper than a Sabatti double...

A friend of mine bought one of the first ones, in 30-06. That thing is scary accurate! They make them now in 416 Ruger? I don't know if the CRF aficionados would accept its reliability as a DGR, but it would certainly have the power, and I can't think of a faster rifle for follow-up shot(s) potential.

I agree, its unconventional, but so was/is the Blaser system.

The new Sports Afield has a Semprio advert and the rifle wears a .375 Ruger barrel stamp, looking at their website they show .416 Ruger forthcoming.

Too bad they are so expensive!

I thought that somewhere along the line I had
read pump rifles and semi-auto rifles where illegal
in African hunting.
Confused

I have a friend who has one in 30-06, and it is very accurate. If one was to choose the Semprio In line repeater in a DGR caliber, I would recommend practice, practice, practice as the slide mechanism is totally opposite from the normal slide action. You slide out to eject and slide in to chamber a round.

I shot pump shot guns in 12 and 10 gauge for a long time duck and goose hunting in Louisiana and Canada. Every now and then when a big flock of pintails would pile into the decoys, someone would short stroke their pump shotgun. I'd hate to do that on an Elephant or a Buff. But Man!!!that sure would give you the ability to make 3 really fast shots!!!

I'd like to try one in 416 Ruger.

I'm sure semiautos are a no-go in Africa....but never thought about pump rifles.
