Looking for 450 Marlin load with Reloader 7 and 350 gr. Hornady
Anybody got a safe Max I can work up to?? Looking to approach 2000 fps in a 18.5" barrel.

Paco Kelly's load is 62.5 gr Re 7 with the 350 gr jsp. [Cool] [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Razz]

I don't know about that Paco load of 62 grains ! ? ! ? [Eek!] [Eek!] [Eek!]

I use 50 grains of Re-7 behind a Hornady 350FP with Rem Brass and WW LR primers. This is near max and I suggest starting below and working up. Good luck!

Just out of curiosity, what would you need to exceed say 1900 fps for? ? ?

Since I don't own a 450 Marlin as I have a plethora of 45-70's, I'm just giving a load that this guy has used for awhile. He says that he gets 2200 f/s or better. Personally, I don't want a 350 gr bullet to run that hot in either caliber. [Cool] [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Roll Eyes]

I think you should check with Paco Kelly again. That is 5 g. above the max. load listed in Hornady #4.
