I.got a rifle they should have built! 416 rem mag weatherby fibermark
I lucked up on this rifle a weatherby fibermark in 416 rem mag.
They didn't make them but they should have .It started as a weatherby
Fibermark in 257 weatherby .The stock is a McMillan so it's very strong.
I wanted a smooth mark v weatherby to have as a dangerous game rifle .
I have had six 416 rem mag rifles two Winchester model 70 ,two rem model 700
Guide rifles ,a Remington 700 stainless ks model and a sako. This weatherby mark v
Takes the cake its the smoothest operating of all the ones I have had and is the one
I always wanted to build but someone did that and I ended up with it.
I am putting a Nikon monarch 3x9 on it which worked on my 416s good before .
It has control detachable mounts which I might change to Burris signature z rings
Which worked awesome too .I have not even shot it just got it today .I want to try
Some different loads in it .It has a 26 inch Douglas barrel on it also with iron sites .
This will probably be my last big bore rifle but I think it will be alot of fun to
Hunt and shoot .I will try 350 grain Speer mag tip ,400 grain hornady ,410 Woodliegh and
Those awesome 340 grain vld bullets I saw on here .I will
Use it on black bears ,hogs and deer till I get back to Alaska.Hopefully it shoots like the former
Said 1 inch groups at 100 yards and some under that .Glad I.found a rifle I always wanted !

Weatherby may have at one time or another chambered a mark V in 416 Rem. Their custom shop is well known for doing pretty much anything the customer wants.

Have fun with your new acquisition.

I wonder if the bolt lock on the bolt.
that locks the bolt can be taken off a weatherby mark v.
That is the only thing I don't like on this rifle is that
Feature .I may need to get another floorplate too one has a little wobble
to it.I like everything to be tight on my 416s.The action and barrel on This rifle
Are awesome so is the trigger .I found my Burris signature rings these control detachable
Ones are already off .I can wait to shoot it but not wasting ammo without a scope on it .
I will try my reduced loads first 2400 fps with Speer 350 grain.I hope it shoots them good. Then I
Will try the Woodliegh 410 grain because I have a ton of them ! The former owner said it would shoot 1
Inch groups at 100 yards with just about any bullet.

Nice find. Re7 works for me for reduced 416 RM loads with 340gr Woodleigh or 350gr Speer bullets at 2000 fps muzzle speed. My 416 Ruger hunting load is the 340gr MTH V15 CEB bullet at 2600 fps.

I this gun shoots better than my Winchester model 70 in 416 rem mag .
It was very disappointing should be alot more accurate .It may need the stock bedded it
Or changed .My Remington 700 rifles in fiberglass and Kevlar stocks were super accurate .
If I could find one for my.Winchester model 70 416 it might help big time.
The 416 is my limit on big bore rifles plenty enough power for anything on earth !
I.used them for protection in Alaska from big bears never felt under gunned!

I believe you will be delighted with your rifle. What a marvelous combination.

For serious work I always loaded 400-grain Swifts at 2,350 (no worries of high pressure, 67-grains of R/L-15 or Norma 203-B.

Have loads of fun!

My son has a LH M70 Stainless Classic (CRF) in 416 Rem. He shoots Remington Safari Grade 400g A-Frame ammo through it. It's a nice caliber.

Chuck

Hopefully, he never lets anyone pry that baby away from him for any price! I'm drooling over here!

4sixteen, in the picture how did the 416 rem. get longer than the 458 lott? They are supposed to be pretty much the same length aren't they?

Obviously the bullet on the 416 ruger is seated way out past normal but the 416 rem. doesn't seem to be.

Seating depth required as shown for the 416 caliber CEB 340gr MTH V15 bullet. Ballistic coefficient is 0.78. Stabilized by the 416 Ruger and 416 RM 1:14 twist barrels. Groups sub-inch at 100 meters from my 416 Ruger Alaskan. Downrange energy retention is real good.

I am fixing to scope my weatherby 416 to use it on hogs .I will use the 350 grain Speer bullets then try those 340 grain north fork bullets .I have been so busy deer hunting I have not had time to site it in .I have to see how tighten the floor plate its loose .I bet I.have to put a new one on it .I won't be shooting over 100 yards so those 350 mag tips will work good .I want to try those north fork bullets to use in Alaska when I get back .

I had a 416 in Rem 700 when they first came to Australia. One those heavy barrel Remingtons.

Factory ammo, which I think was with Swift bullets, did an average of 2410 f/s and they were a 24" barrel.
