OK, we're getting closer. When you get the answer you will be surprised how obvious it was.
# 2 - Gato is right: 30/40 Krag.
# 9 - WB is right: 470 capstick.
Any more tries on #1?
The complete list is:
1. 7mm STW
2. 30/40 Krag
3. 338 Winchester Mag.
4. 358 Winchester
5. 375 H&H
6. 458 Lott
7. 460 Wby
8. 470 NE
9. 470 Capstick
10. 500 NE
11. 500 A-Square (Wells, RAB, etc.)
12. 585 Nyati
14. 505 Gibbs
15. 4 bore
7mm STW
Now, you mentioned in your initial post that the cartridges were arranged from left to right in order of increasing bore diameter. So why is the .585 Nyati to the left of the .505 Gibbs? Just a nit-picky thing. Great picture and thanks for sharing.
redleg
You're right, I screwed that up.
Now, what's missing from this array? Some obvious ones are the 404 Jeff and 500 Jeff, which I do not have represented in my small cartridge collection. But more importantly, a .620 rimless cartridge is missing.
Bring on a real 620 rimless (900 grains at 2300 fps), and I will buy it, even if it is on a Remington 700 action (well, maybe not).
Why are the rifle makers ignoring such a glaring hole in the commercial cartridge offerings? They need to develop an attitude of "If we build it, someone will shoot it."
I should have known better on a few, but these can be kinda fun.

I am new here so I will try harder I have learned more reading these few posts than I have in a life time of reading gun mags and rags.
My most sincere complements.
How does one go about collecting big bore cartridges with out buying a whole 50 dollar box of cartridges?
Sorry for the stupid questions in advance. But more are to follow I am sure.
Thanks again for the education.
