Okay, when I was home over Thanksgiving I fired my brother-in-law's .375 H&H and .458 Lott. Both were a lot of fun and the recoil wasn't too bad. I fired 14 rounds of .375 and 10 rounds of .458 with no soreness and pretty fair accuracy. When I am home for Christmas he is going to have a .500 A-Square and .577 Tyranasaur. My question is how much worse are these guys going to be? Use what ever comparison you can to illustrate what I should expect.

P.S. If you have never fired them but feel compelled to offer an opinion, please state that up front so I can take it into consideration.

If you want to see how aggressive the recoil of a 577 TRex is just check out the video section on this site. You will see just how bad the recoil is. Some videos are quite comical. I have a 375 H+H and a 458 Lott. Neither is really bad if held correctly. I would not be even tempted to fire a TRex. Shoulder getting too old to abuse it that much. Enjoy the big bores.

i have found that a 500 jeffe-ry, with 535's at 2350, in a 10.5# rifle, is pretty okay to shoot... but a lott, with a 500 at 2300, and generally a# lighter, is a BEAR...

the 500 A2 can be loaded 200 fps faster, i HEAR, but i probably wouldn't.

the 577 trex, with no break, should be a nightmare.. but a 585 nyati, 10.5# with a break, is "fine"... about the total limit if what i would call a hunting rifle, but, you know, when the chips were down, it would be just PERFECT

so, the 500 in a 10.5 to 11.5# rifle kicks more, but not wickly more, than a 458 lott in a 9-9.5# rifle...
