Thunder HeadStock wieght?
I have been thinking about replacing the wooden stock on my M70 in .375, before my Moose / Mtn. goat hunt this fall.
I didnt find any real info on wether a composite stock will be lighter than my wood one. Anyone know what the typical wieght of a winchester safari model wood stock is?

A Winchester safari express stock with pad weighs 2.5 lbs.

A wood featherweight stock is just over 2 lbs.
A standard ramline M70 stock is 2 lb 11oz.

capowardI believe the Echols Legend synthetic stock weighs either at or just under 2#s. The B&C Medalist synthetic stock (full aluminum bedding block; same stock the make for Winchester) weighs 2.5#.

BoxheadI replaced the factory walnut stock on my New Haven M70 416 Rem that weighed 44 oz with a McM New Express that weighs 36 oz, a few oz or so more than typical due to the magnum fill required, so a half pound reduction. I believe the 375 uses the same stock, barrel channel, etc. The stock came nicely inletted to float the barrel and with clearance behind the secondary recoil lug as it is not needed or desired according to Mr. Echols and McM. It also has sufficient drop to allow easy use of both the irons, Wisners, or scope. I am more than pleased. I ordered it in brown with black speckle tone with an orange Pachmayr pad.

RIPBoxhead,
That is beautiful.
I like it a lot.
And only 2.25 pounds with magnum fill.
